It is getting harder and harder to get new bottles of vodka at my local shop. Soon, I will need to start venturing around for new bottles!
So what happened the last time I walked in and asked for a vodka I have not tried? I was offered Boru Vodka. I had not heard of it, I liked the bottle, it was distilled from grain, why not!
I popped open this bottle tonight and was pleasantly surprised with the aroma. If it tasted as good as it smelled, I figured I was in for a treat. While it did not quitego that far, it was still a very nice vodka. Reminded me of Finlandia the most, I think. It has a little more flavor than Grey Goose or Armadale, but was still very smooth. Where it compared to Finlandia was more in the throat feel. It goes down easy, but has a little bite of warmth on the way that hangs on for a little while.
They say on the website that this vodka is named for an Irish king from about 1000 years ago. Sounds like a good story to me! All in all, if someone was to bring this bottle over to my house before we sat down to a game of cards, I would be a pretty happy guy.
